Makati Science's two years of absence in the Ten Outstanding Students of Makati is a symptom manifesting that something must be wrong. The teachers and administrators should be alarmed by this.
Although TOSM is not and shall never be a measure of quality of the school and its students, it may create a wrong signal to most people. Makati Science may be excelling in the National Achievement Test for being the TOP school for three consecutive years (2005 yeah! 2006 and 2007) but much is expected from the students and faculty.I remember Mr Roberto Anir, former principal (2001-2006), repeatedly saying, quoting from Spider Man, "to whom much is given, much is expected".
We should not look down to our Alma Mater but take this as a challenge. We can never be always on top but at least be consistent with what we are doing. Go Makati Science!
